A Healthgrades report shows that if all hospitals in the US provided the same level of care as the “250 Best Hospitals in America,” about 1.75 lakh lives could be saved each year.
But the problem is that half of the US population (about 47%) lives in areas where they have to travel more than 25 miles to get to the top 250 hospitals. Not only this, 15 states do not have a single hospital that comes in the top 5%, making it difficult for about 37 million Americans to get quality medical services.
